While in Stuttgart we visited the Mercedes Benz Museum.
Still gorgeous. I saw one of this a couple years ago on the 405 freeway. We wern't going very fast, but I remember be struck by its good looks in a whole new way watching it move. Until then I'd only seen them parked at car shows.
Bianca's family had a 1963 version of this car. Bianca remember's it had scratchy wool upholstory.
1968-1972 The 300SEL 6.3 Sedan. About 300 SAE HP, in a V8 (my current engine is a normally asperated inline 4 that developes 247 horsepower). Yeah, I know were talking apples and oranges, I'm just sayin.
Fascinating to note, that such a sleek, purpose built race car's top speed is easily achieved by most any modern sedan.
